How do I calculate acreage from length and width?
Multiply length by width to get the area in square units, then divide by 43,560 if your measurements are in feet, or by 4,046.86 if in meters. For example, a parcel 660 feet by 330 feet = 217,800 square feet / 43,560 = 5 acres.
What are common acreage reference sizes?
One acre is roughly the size of a football field (about 90% of the playing area). A standard city block is often 2-5 acres. A quarter section (PLSS) is 160 acres. One square mile is 640 acres.
