Airdrop Allocation Calculator

Points-based airdrops split a fixed token pool among participants in proportion to the points each has earned. This calculator takes your points, the total points across all participants, the size of the airdrop pool, and an estimated token price, then returns your share of the pool as a percentage, your token allocation, and its estimated dollar value. Because pre-listing token prices cannot be sourced as fact, the price is a user input so you can test scenarios without relying on a guessed figure.

Airdrop allocation formula

Share fraction = your points / total points
Pool share % = share fraction * 100
Token allocation = pool * share fraction
Estimated value = token allocation * token price
Value per 1,000 points = estimated value / your points * 1000

Allocation is proportional to your points fraction. Token count does not depend on price; only the dollar value does. Pre-listing prices are uncertain and entered as scenarios.

Things to know

  • Take total points and pool size from the project's official airdrop announcement.
  • Pre-listing token prices cannot be sourced as fact; treat the value as a scenario.
  • If more users join, total points rise and your fraction can shrink before the snapshot.
  • Some airdrops cap or tier allocations; a pure proportional split is an approximation.
  • Airdrops are generally taxable as ordinary income on receipt under IRS digital asset rules.

Airdrop allocation: frequently asked questions

How is an airdrop allocation calculated?

Most points-based airdrops divide a fixed token pool in proportion to each participant's points. Your allocation equals your points divided by total points, times the size of the airdrop pool. This calculator computes your share percentage, token allocation, and dollar value at a token price you supply.

Why is the token price a user input?

Airdrop tokens often have no price until they list, and the listing price is uncertain. Because no fixed figure can be sourced before trading begins, this tool takes an estimated token price as a user input so you can model different scenarios. The token allocation itself does not depend on price.

What if I do not know the total points?

If the protocol has not published total points or total pool size, your exact allocation cannot be computed; the points share is a ratio that needs both numbers. Enter the best published figures from the project's official announcement. Treat any pre-launch estimate as provisional until the snapshot is final.

Are airdrops taxable?

In the United States the IRS generally treats tokens received from an airdrop as ordinary income at their fair market value when you gain dominion and control, with a later capital gain or loss on disposal. This tool does not compute tax; consult IRS digital asset guidance and a professional.

Does a larger pool always mean a larger allocation?

Only if your share of points holds. Allocation is your points fraction times the pool, so a bigger pool raises your tokens proportionally, but if total points also grow because more people participate, your fraction shrinks. Both the pool and total points matter.
