What is the surface area of a cuboid?

The surface area of a cuboid is the total area of its six rectangular faces: SA = 2(lw + lh + wh), where l, w and h are the length, width and height. Opposite faces are equal in pairs, so each pair contributes twice its area. For a 4 by 3 by 2 box the surface area is 2(12 + 8 + 6) = 52 square units.
