Glove Size Converter

Glove sizing is based on your hand circumference, measured at the widest point of the palm (excluding the thumb). In the US, the numeric glove size equals the hand circumference in inches for men's dress and work gloves. EU sizing uses centimeters and tends to round to even numbers. This converter shows your US numeric size, EU size, and equivalent S/M/L/XL category for all inputs.

Glove size converter: frequently asked questions

How do I measure my hand for glove size?

Wrap a tape measure around the widest part of your dominant hand (excluding the thumb), typically just below the knuckles. Keep your fingers together and your hand flat. Record the measurement in inches or centimeters.

What is the standard US glove sizing scale?

US glove sizes for men typically run as whole numbers from 7 to 12. The glove size equals the hand circumference in inches rounded to the nearest whole number: 7 inches = size 7, 8 inches = size 8, and so on. Women's gloves use a different scale (XS through XL) or use the same inch measurement minus 1.

How does EU glove sizing differ from US sizing?

EU glove sizes use centimeters. The EU size equals the hand circumference in centimeters rounded to the nearest even number. For example, a 21 cm circumference rounds to EU size 21 or 22. Many European brands also show sizes as S, M, L, XL alongside the numeric size.

Do work glove sizes differ from dress glove sizes?

Work gloves often use S/M/L/XL sizing, where M typically fits 8 to 9-inch hands. Dress and leather gloves use the more precise numeric scale (7, 7.5, 8, etc.) measured in inches or half-inches. Always check the manufacturer's specific chart.

What glove size is large (L)?

Large (L) typically corresponds to hand circumference of 9 to 10 inches (23 to 25 cm). Medium (M) is 8 to 9 inches (20 to 23 cm). Small (S) is 7 to 8 inches (18 to 20 cm). Extra-large (XL) is 10 to 11 inches (25 to 28 cm).
